Full Description

{1} Excavation of Henslow Meadow Gravel pit 1967-68. Early Saxon inhumations recovered. The body of a man, with a small knife of Saxon type between his ribs, was found buried in the surface of the Roman road near the west abutment of the bridge [Mon.No.1896].

{2} Two other probable Saxon burials and another probably contemporary with the bridge.
