Monument record 8537 - Open Field System, Great Billing

Partially enclosed in 1629 by private agreement. The remainder of the parish was enclosed in 1778 by Act of Parliament.

{3} The common fields were formally enclosed by an Act of Parliament of 1778.

{5} In 1629 dispersed demesne land, 170 acres, was exchanged so as to lie next to the manor-house and was enclosed by agreement with the freeholders. The remainder of the parish was enclosed in 1778, following an Act in that year.
