Summary

A possible Iron Age enclosure is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The roughly square enclosure, measures about 23metres across and has an attached smaller square enclosure on its southeast side. A linear ditch extends to the northeast and may be associated with another linear ditch and possible enclosure. The enclosures may represent a small Iron Age farmstead settlement.

Full Description

{1} A possible Iron Age enclosure is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. The roughly square enclosure, measures about 23metres across and has an attached smaller square enclosure on its southeast side. A linear ditch extends to the northeast and may be associated with another linear ditch and possible enclosure at SP 98931 66335. The enclosures may represent a small Iron Age farmstead settlement.
