Summary

Trial trench excavation identified two pits. Charcoal from the fill of one of the pits was radiocarbon dated to between 550-660 cal AD.

Full Description

{1} Trench 17 revealed two irregular-shaped pits at its eastern end. The pits were filled with blackened silt and charcoal from which a c14 date of 550-660AD was obtained.
