Full Description

{1} Moulded stone built into retaining wall parallel to the front of Little House. Part of a door jamb of Weldon oolitic limestone, with two external orders, the arrises cut with an inset quadrant, and hollow chamfer mouldings characteristic of the C14th. An iron pintle was still in place, run in to the inner rebate. It may be assumed that this originated from the medieval Cistercian abbey. It was left on the terrace in front of the house.
