Full Description
{1} Trench C was cut close to the standing dovecote. A limestone surface was located at the east end, containing pottery no earlier than AD 1225 in date. Cut into this layer were a series of slots and postholes. They yielded Saxon pottery, but this must be residual because of their relationship with the limestone layer.
