Full Description

{1}C17th metalling within wall line; post medieval pits;

{2} Little was added to our knowledge of the 17th century defences, though a good yard surface adjoining the Roman wall on its west side appears likely to be of this date, and may relate to the accommodation of troops associated with the suggested levelling off of the motte.
