Full Description
{1} Part of the geophysical anomaly proved to be a possible Iron Age sub-rectangular enclosure, approx 10-15m square with a south facing entrance. The rounded terminal on the eastern side of the entrance was recorded in trench 4 and contained bone fragments, burnt rounded cobbles and pottery dating to the Iron Age. The terminal cur a small, undated oval pit on its northern edge. Part of the northern circuit of the enclosure was uncovered in trench 5 and produced a similar assemblage to that of the terminal. The remainder of the enclosure lay betond the llimits of excavation but can be interpreted from the geophysical survey. The excavation failed to reveal any internal features.
