Full Description

{6} The apsed chapel was added in 1894. Coffered tunnel-vault and coffering in the apse.

{7} A building recording survey was carried out in 2025 prior to development of th chapel. The de Traffords were a Roman Catholic family and in 1892-4 built a detached Chapel to the north-east of the Hall. Several architect's drawings signed A E Purdie survive. Built in an early 18th-century classical style of rendered red brick with rusticated render quoins. The roof is of slate with a decorative ceramic ridge and has a bellcote.
