Full Description

{1} "Quite a few" bodies in lead coffins were found beneath the Co-op building, c.1937-8. Rings were found on some of the skeletons' fingers.

[HER note 04/03/2025: could this be the Quaker burial ground, Crack Bowl Lane? Quaker burials have been known to have lead coffins.]
