Full Description
{1} The building is located just north of the two hangers beside Holcot Lane. Green and black (and possibly a third colour now faded) camoflage paint applied to the former airfield grass drying plant building. Of brick and corrugated asbestos sheet. Show as building No.44 on Air Ministry plan No.3821/56. Good condition.
{2} Grass drying plants were a feature of all wartime airfields with grass strips. Believe that the cut grass from the airfield was dried for animal feed. This survival must be something of a rarity due to the small number of grass airfields.
