Monument record 5485/0/9 - Possible medieval settlement, Wood Burcote

Archaeological investigation has identified ditches and pit. Medieval pottery was recovered from the pit.

{1} A pair of linear ditch anomalies, possibly part of the shrunken medieval village or at least the field system.

{4} Archaeological features were identified in two of the trial trenches excavated close to the geophysical anomalies. An undated ditch, which was visible in both trenches, as well as a further undated ditch and a pit from which pottery dating to the medieval period was found.
