Summary
A mill is depicted on Eyre & Jeffries map of 1791. In 1924 the mill was used by CE & HB Groom for their leather dressing business. In 1935 the mill burnt down.

{1} History:
1086 Domesday survey recorded at Tingdene two mills rendering 18s., another mill rendering 16s., and possibly another mill rendering 5s
1294 A mill at Thyngden let to farm for 20s. Yearly
1650 Three watermills at Finedon
1722 The overseers of the poor collected rates from Richard Cooper of Sprat's Mill
1806 Watermill owned by Sir William Dolben, and John Colpman was tenant miller
1851-1871 Mill run by the Burr family
1885 No miller listed in trade directories of this date and after
1912 At sale of Finedon Hall estate, the watermill was included
1924 Mill taken by CE and HB Groom Ltd for their leather dressing business
1935 Mill burnt down and the leather business moved to Wellingborough
c.1955 Remains of mill cleared away although mill house still stranding
Shown, un-named on Eyre's and Jeffries' map; OS survey plan of 1819 marks it Finedon Mill; Brynat's 1827 map shows it, but unnamed; and 1926 25in OS map marks it Finedon Mill (Leather Dressing)
{2} Off Mill Lane- mill plus some other buildings dating from the 19th century, these have now all been pulled down. The mill building was used as a factory before being demolished.
