Full Description

{1} On the OS second edition 1:2,500 plan the brick and tile works are described as ‘disused’. Six buildings were mapped at that time including two long structures, one adjoining the west side of the kiln with the second a short distance to the east. The former appears to be open to be partly open, the latter open on all sides — a drying shed?
Earthworks of building platforms are present in the vicinity of the kiln. These are presumed to be the sites of buildings on the early OS plans.
