Full Description

{1} A north-south aligned gully 0.45m wide and 0.25m deep with steeply sloping sides and a rounded base.
1m further north was an east-west aligned gully or ditch measuring 0.7m in width with steeply sloping sides and a flat base.
Further north was an oval feature measuring 0.85m by 0.6m. The feature was 0.1m in depth and probably represented a truncated pit or post hole.
Immediately north was an east-west aligned ditch 1.05m wide and 0.4m deep with steep sides sloping down to a gently rounded base. This feature produced three sherds of abraded mid-late Iron Age pottery.
This ditch appeared to cut a small north-south aligned gully which was observed to the north but did not emerge from its south side. It was not excavated and was not as well defined as the other features in the trench.

{2} Along with the larger features, numerous small pits and other gullies were also present.:
An oval pit or gully measured 1.6m long, 0.6m wide, and 0.28m deep. It contained seven sherds of Iron Age pottery and charred sheep/goat bone.
A sub-rectangular pit 0.5m long, 0.3m wide, and 0.09m deep. It contained four sherds of pottery.
An oval pit (identified in the trial trenching) measured 0.85m by 0.6m, and 0.1m deep.
A gully (identified in the trial trenching) was 0.45m wide and 0.25m deep with steeply sides and rounded base.
A small oval pit measured 0.48m wide and 0.26m deep and contained three worked flints.
A sub circular/oval pit with concave sides and a concave base
A sub-oval pit with irregular sides and a wavy base and a slightly irregular / oval pit with irregular sides and a flattish base. Both pits may be naturally occurring geological features.
