Full Description

{1} Beneath the existing gate pier to Castle Farm was the base of a limestone gate pier, 0.45m wide and extending a further 0.8m to the west. It was constructed of roughly dressed limestone blocks bonded with hard white lime mortar. Immediately to the west was the decayed remains of an oak gate post, 0.2m square. The present pier was built about 10 years ago and replaced a narrower gateway to allow ease of access.
