Full Description
{1} A 0.1m thick deposit of mid brown silty clay which appeared to be a demolition/levelling deposit sealing the remains of a limestone metalled surface. This metalled surface, composed of dark brown silty clay with approximately 80% limestone fragments, was probably a yard surface. It sealed a deposit which contained moderate quantities of medieval pottery, including nine sherds of 10th — 12th century St Neots ware suggesting early medieval activity in the vicinity.
