Full Description

{1} Four pits were seen:
Pit 005 was 2.1m wide and 0.7m deep with steeply sloping sides and a dished base. It contained possibly heat shattered pebbles and occasional flecks of charcoal, along with a single sherd of Coventry A ware dated to the 12-13th centuries.
Pit 007 was 1.2m wide and 0.8m deep with near vertical sides and a rounded base. A single sherd of Coventry A ware was recovered from this pit fill.
Pit 009 was sub-circular, 1.1m in diameter and 0.7m deep with steeply sloping sides and a rounded base. It contained several rounded river pebbles that appeared burnt or heat shattered.
Pit 011 was 1.8m wide but only exposed up to 0.8m deep. It had steeply sloping sides and the base was not excavated. There were no finds.
