Full Description
{1} Geophysical survey undertaken within the walled garden. A series of faint anomalies are recorded. These do not appear to be aligned with the garden structure and therefore possibly represent a previous phase of activity in this area. The majority of these anomalies would appear to be linear with a major axis running NW-SE from which at least three anomalies run off at rough right angles. The anomalies may be part of a field system. A circular anomaly was noted at the north end of the survey; this was approx 6m in diameter. A less clear second circular anomaly may also exist in the centre of the survey. It is thought unlikely that these are wells associated with the garden and may be ring ditches.
