Full Description

{1} Baker also marked what he called a ‘small trench’ crossing the south part of the hill but no trace remains. It was almost certainly an old hollow way.

{4} An area of modern infill was suspected to overlay an earlier cut feature. This could not be confirmed due to the shallowness of the trench but it might be speculated that this was the 'trench' referred to by Baker.

{5} Remains of the so called trench were located and sectioned. It was found to be a relatively shallow feature (0.66m deep in the bedrock) but with a broad flat bottom, 2.2m wide. No dating evidence was obtained.
