Full Description

{1} A large post-medieval quarry with sides sloping at 70 degrees measuring 10.4m long and more than 1.5m deep. The quarry was rapidly backfilled with tip lines seen. The backfill included a lens of iron slag and ash more than 3m long and 0.25m thick. The fill is dated by two 17th century pot sherds.
