Monument record 1886/1 - Towcester Road Cemetery

The cemetery was established at the very end of the 19th century. A Jewish cemetery was opened in 1902. The cemetery has some Matzevah and an Ohel constructed of yellow brick. The mortuary chapel is a grade II listed building.

{1} Established between 1880 (not shown on First Edition mapping) and 1950s. Shown on Second Edition mapping therefore built c.1900.

{2} A Jewish cemetery was opened in Towcester Road Cemetery in 1902. The cemetery has some Matzevah and an Ohel constructed of yellow brick.

{3} 'Northampton (Towcester Road) Cemetery contains 116 First World War burials and 17 from the Second World War, most of which form a combined war graves plot to the left of the chapel. The cemetery also contains five non-war service burials and three Czech war graves.'
