Full Description

{2} The trench on the north side of the chancel produced a series of medieval skeletons, undisturbed by burials later than about 1500. The earliest and deepest skeletons were placed in graves cut into the subsoil and covered with organic material; some had stone slabs placed around and over them, and one grave had a posthole near the skull that presumably represents a marker or cross.
