Full Description

{1} Much Roman pottery was observed in the previous field survey along with building stone and Roman roof tile. Good sized pieces of early and middle Anglo-Saxon pottery were also recovered in fieldwalking some years ago.

David Hall believes the site to be a "significant villa". Much pottery was observed in the previous field survey along with building stone and Roman roof tile. The site measures circa 200m across.

{4} (SP642617) An occupation site was recorded in 1979. The site covers three acres and revealed large quantities of limestone, tegulae and imbrices. The pottery range is Samian to colour-coated and early Saxon wares.
