Full Description

{1} Tenants of Scottish kings in their capacity of earls of Northampton followed their lords to Scotland. The most striking case is that of the house of Oliphant, the ancestor of which must have owed connection to Scottish realm to his holding of Lilford of earls of Northampton.

{3} In Lilleford William Olyfart holds 5 hides of fee of King of Scotland. Held by Walter of Countess Judith in 1068.
