Summary

Bronze Age burials said to have been found on the Portway possibly on the boundary between Aynho and King's Sutton parishes before 1822. A looped palstave was also found.

Full Description

{1} Near the portion of the Portway north of Aynho village a grooved brass celt was found a few years since, with a 'number of skeletons laying north-south'.

{2} Sited at SP51443390, no authority quoted.

{3} The grid reference lacks good authority.

{4} Bronze Age inhumations and a 'celt' often said to be from Kings Sutton were in fact found in Aynho parish.
Possible Bronze Age burial (possibly from SP514340) found close to the northern boundary of Aynho, possibly within Kings Sutton parish. The 'celt' was in fact a bronze looped palstave, now in private hands.

{11} Find sited to SP 51443390 {12} but without any good authority. The axe is not in the museum.
