Monument record 615/1 - Former Windmill

The site of an earthen mound interpreted now as a windmill mound, although formerly it was interpreted as a barrow.

{2} Site of windmill was on the southern boundary of the parish, but is now destroyed by ploughing. In 1969 it comprised a low, circular, grass-covered mound 0.8m high x 15m in diameter. There was no trace of an outer ditch. A windmill was shown on the site in 1850.

{3} Site incorrectly interpreted as a barrow by the OS. Plan.

{4} Situated at SP 57056701 is a low, circular, grass covered mound, probably the remains of a round barrow. No trace of an outer ditch was seen. Max height 0.8 m. See annotated 25" survey.
