Full Description
{1} Fieldname: The Park.
{2} Fieldname: Park Hovel and Park Yard. The field to the north was called Mount Close.
{4} Garden remains (SP 534399) not correctly interpreted previously because of the identification of the mound as a windmill mound and damage by surface quarrying. The mound lies at the N.W. corner of a rectangular area bounded by low scarps. Surviving internal features include a low bank and two shallow rectangular former ponds: a larger pond lies outside the area to the N. The area has been damaged by quarrying and a possible former tennis court (local info). The area was known as The Park in 1805, Park Hovel and Yard in 1841. [RCHM plan].
{5} SP 53483990 A mill mound of indeterminate period measuring 22.0m in diameter and 2.5m high. it has a flat top 10.0m across with a working ramp to the south west. Surveyed on 1:2500 MSD.
