Full Description
{2} There are three corrugated iron sheds formerly used by the Park Gate Iron and Steel Company for their Charwelton Ironstone Quarries which operated in the area between 1919 and 1963. Iron ore was taken from the quarries down to the Great Central Railway at Charwelton via a standard gauge tramway which passed through the site. The larger two sheds contained the forge - still extant - and the engineering workshops. The third is thought to be the much altered remains of the locoshed.
