Full Description

{1} A two-storey boot and shoe factory constructed of brick with a shallow-pitched asbestos roof. This wide building is seven or eight bays in length and has a flat-roofed office bay (possibly a later addition) projecting from the gabled southeast front. Not shown on 1924 OS map but is on 1963-4 edition.

[HER Note 19/12/2012: incorrectly identified by EH on 1963-64 OS map, which appears to show only several minor structures associated with the factory building immediately adjacent. This seems to indicate that the recorded building probably dates to the 1970s. It is also possible that the survey records have become generally confused since the adjacent factory building is recorded on NMR records, but there is nothing in the EH survey files currently held by NCC.]
