Full Description

{1} Randomly spaced pieces of iron slag were seen in the trench. They ranged in size from 20mm to 160mm and were irregular shaped lumps with an overall wight of 1236g. Such finds within the plough soil are fairly typical of many local fields and probably relate to the many iron working sites in the area.
