Abstract/Summary

This report outlines the results of an archaeological evaluation carried out in January 2012 at New Lodge Farm, Bulwick. The excavation on the site of a proposed wind turbine produced data showing the state of preservation of ridge and furrow earthworks within the evaluation trench and around New Lodge Farm. In addition, undatable fragments of iron slag within the plough soil were also recovered from the excavation. Such finds are probable typical of many areas within the parish which is rich in iron working sites of several archaeological periods. No further features or finds were encountered.
