Full Description
{1} AP No.16. A possible medieval boundary or hollow way is visible as earthworks and soilmarks on historic air photos and on the lidar data. This feature can be traced from close to Drayton Dairy Farm, eastward around the southern edge of the Drayton House complex and across the path of the Pall Mall avenue (AP no. 3). It is visible over a distance of approximately 500m and is up to 12m wide. It appears to underlie the embankment and carriage way running through the Pall Mall avenue. This boundary or hollow way is aligned with the plough headland along which the Drayton Road runs (AP no. 9). The lidar data indicates that this boundary or hollow way survives in most parts as a shallow earthwork. (1-6)
