Full Description

{1} A pit later recut by a possible clamp kiln. Both the pit and clamp kiln were aligned south-east to north-west. The pit measured at least 2m long, 1m wide and up to 0.3m deep with a U-shaped profile. The clamp kiln cut into the centre of the pit and measured 0.74m long, 0.55m wide and was up to 0.2m deep. It had a U-shaped profile and was lined with a burnt red clay, and then infilled with dark grey clay which contained charcoal lumps. No artefacts were recovered from either the pit or the clamp kiln.
