Full Description
{1} Trial trench evaluaiton identified a bowl shaped ditch. It was orientated north east - south west before turning almost east - west. It it likely that it forms part of a rectilinear feature, possibly an enclosure. There was evidence of one recut of the ditch. Heat affected stones were recovered from its fill, along with a sherd of Iron Age pottery and a possibly intrusive piece of animal bone, and a single piece of flint.
In a trench to the north two ditches, parallel to each other, orientated north east - south west, and a pit were seen. No finds were seen and the dating of the these features and their relationship with the possible Iron Age enclosure remains uncertain.
