Summary

A farmhouse was built on the site of St Leonards Hospital at some time prior to the mid-17th century. It was apparently located south of South Bridge on the west side of London Bridge. A small cottage on the site, called the Spittle or Lazerhouse, was occupied rent free by a single, poor man.

{4}Detailed account of scattered fragments of land belonging to St Leonard's Farm in Cotton & Hardingstone; lists all property connected with estate;

{5}Farm called St Leonard's Farm belonging to Corporation; it had (Barnes Malting) dovecote and closes adjoining;

{6}Lazarhouse belonging to St Leonard's farm in Cotton End; at end of C16th property from lazarman consisted of small estate in Far Cotton [means Cotton End] known as St Leonard's Farm; consisted of 28 acres of lands without farmhouse but made up of half-acre strips scattered all over the fields of Cotton & Hardingstone; lists names of fields belonging to St Leonard's;
