Full Description

{1} Identified by South Northamptonshire Council as being a building of historic and/or architectural significance.

{2} An outbuilding to the rear of 22 High Street was subject to building recording. May have been built by the late 18th century, but could not be specifically made out on the 1772 Inclosure Map. Certainly present by the First Edition Ordnance Survey in 1885. Used variously as a stable, animal shelter and a coal shed. Northern part constructed of stone and brick below clay tile roof. The southern part is mainly of stone, but the eastern walls are of brick.

{3} The main property is of stone, with an interlocking tiled roof replacing thatch in the early 1960s. Two storeys and attic, two bays, with a large axial stack at the west end and an inserted stack on the east gable serving the ground floor only. A large extension, slightly set back at the front, is attached at the east end, wrapping round the rear, with various additions at the end and to the rear of the building.
The steepness of the roof and the two-bay plan suggest this building has a 17th-century origin. No internal features were found to corroborate this dating; plan;
