Full Description

{1} An additional group of strong magnetic anomalies indicate a further settlement site in Fields 5 and 6. The findings include curved features likely to indicate hut circles in Field 6, where there is also a strong peak in the susceptibility readings.

Findings in Field 7 include a ditched enclosure containing strong, individual pit-like features, together with a system of intersecting field drains and some possible cultivation effects.
Distinct rectilinear enclosure with internal features.

{3} This site was excavated during the construction of the Hannington to Pitsford Pipeline. Settlement dated from the Late Bronze Age/early Iron Age and continued through to the late Iron Age. In the late Bronze Age/early Iron Age there were a number of boundary ditches, three enclosures, the truncated remains of two possible roundhouse gullies, a posthole structure, a possible trackway and a number of pits.
During the middle-late Iron Age, boundaries were redefined, though respecting earlier alignments, new enclosures were created, again often respecting earlier features, and further pits were excavated.
