Summary

Excavation in 2010 identified a series of rectilinear and curvilinear enclosures likely to have related to agricultural use. Probably established in the mid 2nd century and remodelled in the later 3rd century. Only small quantities of pottery were recovered suggesting they were located some way from settlement.

Full Description

{1} Roman rectangular-ditched enclosure and drainage ditches were seen.

{3} Excavation in 2010 identified a series of rectilinear and curvilinear enclosures likely to have related to agricultural use. Probably established in the mid 2nd century, some considerable time after the abandonment of the Middle Iron Age settlement to the west, and remodelled in the later 3rd century. Only small quantities of pottery were recovered suggesting the enclosures were located some way from settlement.
