Full Description

{1} Eight discrete areas of magnetic enhancement are identified; this type of magnetic anomaly can originate from cut and infilled archaeological pits although recent intrusive activity can cause similar anomalies. Six of the areas are located within an area of known modern disturbance which suggests that the anomalies may result from relatively recent activity.

A number of discrete areas of magnetic enhancement targeted with trenches did not originate from cut and infilled archaeological features. They originated from magnetically enhance fills of natural features or magnetically enhanced material incorporated within the ploughsoil.
