Building record 1156/2/20 - Former Animal Shelter/Potting Shed to South of Kitchen Garden

{5} The kitchen garden was uncovered by a major clearance operation as they were extremely overgrown. Many of the buildings had to be stripped of ivy and could not be approached because of trees and undergrowth. Some buildings had collapsed. By necessity some recording relied primarily upon written and photographic records rather than drawn. Elevne buildings were separately recorded within the kitchen garden. Plan.
Building (2), animal shelter/potting shed.
11.2m x 4m with roughly coursed ironstone walls to north, east and west, and the once open south wall infilled with red brick. A Welsh slate roof and concrete floor. Cast iron troughs. Features suggest it may have been a pigsty, with the later cretaion of a potting shed. More details and photographs.
