Full Description

{1} Three circular mounds. The largest is conical, and 1m high above the bottom of the surrounding ditch, but only 0.5m above the adjacent ground. There is a slight depression in the top. The other two mounds are more irregular in form and are surrounded by a common ditch. Both are only 0.5m high.

{3} Noted during Field investigation; a series of earthworks centred at SP.899945 and comprising in part 4 ditched mounds, one rectangular [interpreted by the RCHM inventory as a pillow mound- 4140/3/1] the remainder circular. All as surveyed.
Mr. W. Spendlove, the owner, confirming the Field name, stated that local tradition placed a former Hall here, and added that much worked stone had been removed for the construction of houses in
the village.
