Full Description

{1} A ditch measuring 1.6m+ wide , 0.73m deep and 1.8m+ in length with a 45 degree sloping eastern edge and a flattish base. The opposing side lay beyond the limit of excavation. The feature was aligned north-south. Its fill produced three fragments of 19th century brick and a single pancheon ware pottery sherd.
The ditch is on a similar alignment to the medieval earthworks to the north. It may be that modern field boundaries follow the same alignment as the medieval earthworks.
