Full Description

{1} Deegan's interpretation suggests that the ridge and furrow survives only as cropmarks.

{2} Three medieval furrows ran approximately south-west to north-east across the area excavated by Greenfield, in places penetrating the undisturbed subsoil. They were also noted by Hall and Nickerson the previous year, but their depth was not then recognised.
A single sherd of a probable medieval or later green-glazed platter was recovered from the limestone areas around the building, suggesting that they were formed by later cultivation and not contemporary with the structure.
