Full Description

{1} Stone coffin in garden of 16 Doddington Road in 1955; not in-situ and possibly recovered from the churchyard.

{2} Finds of worked stone were made in the garden of 16 Doddington Road. The stone coffin recorded in the newspaper article has now gone and it was thought these may the remains. A site visit was inconclusive. Although the stone could not be dated and a Roman origin not ruled out, a medieval date would be more likely, perhaps re-used from the All Saints Churchyard.
