Full Description

{1} A series of test pits and footings holes for temporary supporting works exposed a well beneath the basement rooms. It was sub-circular, c.0.7m diameter, and cut through the natural sand and ironstone bedrock. The top of the well was stone-lined. It’s base was c.1.18m below the floor of the basement at 75.88m aOD. As it lay beneath the basement it is likely that the well pre-dates the construction of No.7 Sheep Street.
