Full Description
{1} The survey detected a few minor anomalies of possible archaeological significance. In the southern part of the area there was a weakly positive linear anomaly which is aligned almost exactly north-south, and a shorter linear anomaly which joins this almost perpendicularly from the west. To the east and north there are a couple of other short linear east-west aligned anomalies which probably represent ditches. It is possible that these features represent fragments of a former field system.
{2} No evidence for these features was found during trial trench excavation-remnant furrows from medieval ridge and furrow cultivation system were present throughout the site. The furrows were highly truncated by subsequent agricultural activity and no finds were recovered from them.
