Full Description

{1} Undated quarry pit(s) recorded by D.Hall as part of The Rockingham Forest Project Survey.

{2} Ordinarily ferrous anomalies are not considered to be of interest but the responses marked 'J' on the plan might be an exception. They surround a marked depression in the field, overgrown with trees and bushes, and suggest the presence of a large, ferrous object. There is anecdotal evidence that a World War II bomber crashed in the fields around Weldon and it is possible that aircraft debris could have produced this anomaly.
