Full Description

{1} Blocks 1 and 2 were positioned over areas of background magnetic disturbance and a dense surface scatter of tap slag. In the south-west of Block 1 was the densest surface scatter of tap slag. Adjacent were two smaller areas of magnetic disturbance and a number of discrete areas of magnetic enhancement that may locate discrete dumps of slag or smelting furnaces, and cut and infilled archaeological features respectively. The proximity of Willow Brook suggests that results may be affected by natural drainage features.
