Full Description

{1} The general absence of the quantity of earthworks seen in the northern area suggests that the southern part of Area 3 was not part of the settlement or gardens. The magnetometer data appears to correlate with this assumption as the only anomalies recorded are of agricultural origin, being slightly curving, that suggests that they are due to medieval and post medieval ridge and furrow cultivation. The anomalies are due to the magnetic contrast between the now soil-filled furrows and the former ridges.
